More About This Website

Taking a walk on 'The Sunny Side of the Street' is my way of saying I'm choosing to look at the positive in life.  That's not to say that a cloud or two doesn't try to block the sun, or an occassional rain storm comes my way.  As the song says, "Life's sweet.  Just direct your feet to the sunny side of the street."

1372284-972548-thumbnail.jpgMy name is Lisa Mongold, and I am a 33 year old wife, mom, and PreK teacher.

I have been married to my husband, Phil, for 14 years and we have 3 daughters that are growing up way too quickly.   Marissa is 12, Rebekah is 11, and Alisha is 8.  Our dog, Patches, is a 4-year-old Shih-tzu, who is definitely part of our family.

During the school year, I  teach  Pre-Kindergarten at a private school in the midwest.  I love my job, and enjoy having summers off with my girls.

I love to read and listen to music.  A few of my favorite authors are Ted Dekker, Robert Whitlow, and Brock and Bodie Thoene.  My musical tastes are a little more diverse.  Currently in my CD player is Israel & New Breed, Group1Crew, Barlow Girl, Reilly, Glenn Miller, and Michael Buble'.

Things I enjoy, but don't get to do often (that is the definition of a hobby, right?), are scrapbooking and jewelry making.  Things I do not enjoy are cooking, yardwork, and removing wallpaper.

Encompassing all those aspects of my life, is the fact that I am a daughter of the Most High God.  His Son, Jesus is my Savior, and His Holy Spirit guides me through these days He has blessed me with.

My purpose in writing this blog is to simply express who I am.  I've spent far too many years trying to be who I thought others wanted me to be.  I've come to a place in my life where I am secure in who God has created me to be.  So, I'm putting myself out there, so to speak.  My hope is that in all my writing and rambling, someone, somewhere would get something out of it.
